Can't Spell Tyga without a Why?

Before this article is started I want just say it's not the relationship that's the problem, worse things have happened, worse people have been chosen. It's how this guy handles his situations... DESTRUCTIVELY!
It's official people Tyga is no longer a rapper as he is a celebrity/upcoming kuwtk guest star, today while taking pictures with fans. Tyga was seen sporting a new tattoo- or at least it's new to us and we never noticed because the dude is a walking canvas, but the tattoo was the name of who else but 17-year old Kylie Jenner who Tyga isn't dating and isn't flying out to Paris every week where 17 is totally fine to hook up with.

So it was actually pretty funny that we noticed this tattoo be caused just a week ago his ex girlfriend Blac Chyna posted screenshots of their texts messages where Tyga is seen asking to come home and wanting to be a family.

THA BARTER 6

Last night we may have saw the beginning of the hip-hop revolution as Young Thug was booed off stage in Louisiana. After releasing his debut album Barter 6(I'll explain the title later in the article) Young Thug has been performing Back to back shows plugging his new album with Mentor and CEO of Cash Money Records Birdman and fellow label ate Rich Homie Quan.
So let me once again give you a quick rundown on the biggest break up in hiphop since Roc a fella split in 2001.

Lil Wayne who signed to CashMoney in 1991 and honestly carried them while becoming one of the biggest names in hiphop is having his final album put in a hostage situation as the CEO and long time friend/partner/dad(yes, Lil Wayne thinks that's really his father).

Birdman sees that Wayne is ready to leave Cash Money but there's no way he's allowing his cash cow to go, so as of now the album is his. Then Birdman introduced his newest "protege" (I quoted protege because Birdman would actually have to be good at rapping to have a protégé) Young Thug to the world which is like Lil Wayne but 8,000 times more annoying, Young Thug unfortunately looks like the rebound girlfriend as he says we're going to continue on with "Tha Carter"(Lil Wayne album saga named after his last name. THA CARTER I,II,III,IV have been released ironically THA CARTER V is the album Birdman is holding hostage.

They all are in or affiliated with the gang Bloods, I'm not really sure what's the meaning behind this besides the fact that they have a rival gang named the crips so Bloods aren't supposed to use the letter C, thus came "Tha Barter 6".

This has gone on long enough it's pretty childish of Birdman if you ask me, the CD didn't even make the top 20 and it seems like the terrible artists get the most radio play and mainstream attention so if I wasn't a hiphop fan and tried it for the first time if this was what I heard, I'd opt out.
I'm not sure if the booing of the Louisiana crowd was just refusal to listen to Young thug or in appreciation and loyalty to Lil Wayne who is from New Orleans.

HipHop: A Love Story Ep. 3

For this episode of Hip Hop: A Love Story were going to take trip back to that feel good era of fusing a little HipHop with R&B. When asked Darwin "when did you fall in love with HipHop?" He had the most puzzling look on his face, after he processed it he knew without a doubt that the classic 1996 hit "No Diggity" by Blackstreet and Dr. Dre. Now this wasn't too hard to connect because Darwin is a proud LA resident and Dr. Dre is a Legend.

He first heard this song when he was 4years old and I think we all had that one song as a toddler that would make us dance, well... this one was his. His favorite part is the point before the beat drops where one of the Blackstreet singers cue Dre to rap "Yo Dre drop the verse!" Followed by a strong tune played on the piano. It's the song that stood out the most to him, throughout the years of growing up he always felt good when this song came on. It was also cool to him that everyone may not know the group Blackstreet but when they hear the song they know it. Now as an adult, you find Darwin playing No Diggity on his iPod or in rare occasion he Karaokes.

KEVIN GATES... ON BEING KEVIN GATES

Today... we want to take some time out to pray for this guy we unfortunately have to call a rapper. As if its not enough that you rap about killing people but this guy says....“Niggas so stupid, talking ’bout a change gon’ come.” he said in a recently posted video. “[Since] Obama been in office I done buried more of my niggas and more family than I ever did in my life. All he did was fuck a nigga money up since he been in office. Please get this nigga out of office.”
Another idiotic mixtape rapper who blames the president for the problems of a society gone bad. Instead of calling it what it is "personal responsibility" he's looking for someone to blame. I don't remember ever seeing the president putting guns in the streets or drugs in peoples hands, or poverty into their mentality, those were personal choices. Mr. Gates would not speak on his personal choice to feed into the negativity of the streets with his wack lyrics or murder, violence, drugs, and lets not forget incest which from his IG he is in full support of. We need to keep people like this off the radios and off the tv at all times.

RIP YOUR HIP-HOP CAREER

An African-American man, in his early twenties, poses for a camera shot. He is wearing a tan jacket with a tan hat tilted to the side.

The numbers are in and the deadliest profession is as a hip-hop artist!

Music to die for: How Genre Affects Popular Musicians' Life Expectancy, is the theory penned by Dianna Theadora Kenny, a professor of psychology and music at the University of Sydney. She examined the deaths of 13,000 pop artists musicians and looked for patterns such as if blues musicians kill themselves more often than metal musicians? or if country artists died younger than punk artists? Dianna later told Washing Post "People who go into rap music or hip hop or punk, they're in a much more occupational hazard profession compared to war. We don't lose half our army in a battle." This much i will say is true, you never hear about Pop Artists or Country artists being shot in killed in acts of violence. I don believe however that its the deadliest profession, Rockstars do a lot of drugs leading ultimately to death. It's not the genre, its the environment.

Whats Going On?

If you haven't heard, 6 people were reportedly stabbed during a Migos concert last night. The trio had just finished there debut album earlier this week.
Now I get Migos trap culture, but they aren't a real pioneer on violence. N.W.A promoted violence, 2Pac promoted violence, Wu-tang promoted violence which could be a result of why so many concerts ended with a brawl of some sort but not Migos.
The music usually revolves around drug-dealing, women and going to clubs(Original. I know.) and the most iv'e ever heard about violence is in retaliation if messed with any of the 3 mentioned before. Albany PD first arrived at the scene at 12:50 AM and found two wounded victims, who were rushed to the hospital, shortly after two other stabbing victims arrived at the ER. The last two had non-life threatening scrapes.

Was Migos involved or even the reason for the stabbing? I highly doubt it.

YEEZY SUPPLY

The moment we've all been waiting for... It's officially Yeezy Season!

This beautiful ballad was the first released single from Kanye's 7th studio album "So Help Me God" and released on New Years Day.  The song is written from the perspective of his mother Donda West who passed away from problems after surgery and is talking to Kanye about his daughter North West. The official video is below starring his daughter, but theres also a fan video circulating dedicated to his mother.

This next song will be track 1 on the new album and was released during the Brit Fashion Week where Kanye held a fashion show for his new collection with Adidas. This version sounds like a demo version/performance but knowing Kanye he could've wanted it that way. I also heard word that the finalized track is featuring Drake instead of Sia. The video below is the live performance.

Last but defintely not least Kanye shows  us that Yeezus is alive in well in his single ALL DAY(stylized as #allday) . This song like "Wolves" was released during Fashion Week but this time i Paris. Kanye reportedly called in a favor from a friend who resides in Paris asking him to "bring 30 goons to mob on stage" (hence the album cover). This is a spitfire track that will mostly be heard in the club. The video below is a snippet from the video.

The Blame Game of Hip-Hop

We've seen this time and time before where the star-studded rap superstar falls for the "real" video vixen/stripper. What I cannot get behind however is when the rapper breakup/divorce the woman, it has to come down to slut-shaming... We ALL[including Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West] knew what Amber Rose was about and to be completely honest its not her. It's the rappers! These rappers use these women as trophies as some sort of leverage, I think its to say I have the sexiest women in the world. What they don't understand is that the rapper is actually the trophy... The real trophy the trophy that regenerates if you understand ($$$). In recent Hip-Hop news we've seen turmoil between The Kardashian Klan and Amber Rose. In defense on her best friend
Blac Chyna (Yes, unfortunately birds of a feather do flock together), Amber came to social media to express her feelings about the Tyga and Kylie Jenner relationship.

Now if you're asking yourself Who are these people?!? Let me break this down for you.

Tyga and Blac Chyna

Blac Chyna - An "exotic dancer" who originally was friends with Nicki Minaj and constantly hung around the Young Money roster. After being spotted a couple times and creating a name for herself she became a hot-commodity in the rap world and was knocked up and allegedly engaged with rapper Tyga.

If You're Reading This You're a couple days too late.

Remember that time in 2014when Beyonce dropped a surprise album and totally broke the internet... No it didn't happen again but DRAKE defintily learned something and took a page from "The Queen Bey" and released a Surprise LP naming it "If You're Reading This, Its Too Late", this sounds like a follow up to Drakes 3rd album Nothing was The Same that went Platinum in October of 2014.
If your constantly in tune with The hip-hopology then you may remember a post we posted about a week ago. About the fall of Cash Money, apparently Drake is locked in for a 5 album deal with Cash Money... Drake has openly admitted that this is a mixtape that he would release as a album to get closer to his 5 album deal with Cash money as his mentor Lil Wayne pursues on with legal activity to get off the contract.
His next album is named "Views From the 6" in will likely be released later in 2015.

AZ vs. The World

Celebrities, women and children and rappers all alike! Beware for Azalea Banks is back in her natural habitat, The TwitterVerse! Yes but this time she's not going after T.I. or his wife or even Iggy Azalea for that matter! Her unholy twitter rage rained down on Erykah Badu earlier this week.

Answering a fans question as to whether or not Badu had the opportunity to listen to Azealia Banks music and her opinion on it. She replied sarcastically with "Tried."

Erykah, who isn't that known for throwing shots over twitter surprised the heavyweight champion of Twitter beefs.

Banks nonchalantly brushed off the "Shade" as Erykah Badu "...Jealous"

Before the argument could go even more south... Erykah comedically insisted that she legitimately  Tried to listen but just didn't understand it.

This isn't the first beef Azalea have been in.. when she's not usually going at fellow female rap mc Iggy Azalea:
These others have ben touched by the Social-media spitfire who is Azealia Banks

Cash Money: Fall of an Empire?

Things definitely aren't as tight as they used to be over there at Young Money.
(this is no more)
(That's so done)
(I don't even know if I want to touch on this or not)

The most explosive right now is the beef tht going on between CEO Lil' Wayne and CFO Birdman!

The first alleged Father-Son rap duo (No Birdman isn't really Lil' Wayne's Dad) has split but Wayne has took to Twitter to sound off on why this split has emerged. Apparently Birdman has a contract with Lil Wayne stating tht even studio album he Weill receive 12 million dollars 4 million for the actual album and a 8 million dollar advance. Recently Birdman went on to tell media outlets tht he has no intentions on releasing Wayne from his contract this means keeping Tha Carter V(5) under his control of distribution.

Wayne also has taken this matter into his own hands as he intends on taking Birdman to court for 8 million dollars. To make matters worse he's taking his two most-valuable players Nicki Minaj and Drake with him.

Love and Hip-Hop circa 97

Welcome to Hip-Hopology!

Since this is February I wanted to start off with one of the best loves in Hip hop history.
So we all know the infamous love triangle between The late but great rapper Notorious BIG, longtime on and off girlfriend Lil' Kim and his wife R&B singer Faith Evans

Did you know that his song "Another" featuring Lil Kim began with an actual argument between the two which was recorded by accident.

In Lil Kim's words it started as an act of attention seeking, at The Hit Factory in New York City while Wallace (Notorious) was recording his Ready to Die album. It was a given that alcohol and drugs were to be there during the recording even women so Jones(Kim) never minded at the time even though this was a time when the on and off relationship was on.

Taking up two studios one for Notorious' Final album "Life After Death" and Lil Kim' "Hardcore" it wasn't out of the ordinary for the two to visit each other throughout recording breaks.

One day Jones went to surprise Wallace but instead found him very affectionate with another girl in the studio without Wallace noticing her. In rage she went back to continue her recording but this time she brings a guy there to accompany her.

It wasn't too long before word had gotten back to Wallace that his Girlfriend had another guy in her studio, thus the intro for his song Another was made. Though the intro only lasts about 20 seconds the fight last way longer and even escalated to physical altercation where Wallace choked Jones in her studio.
